Ambulatory Care Center
The Ambulatory Care Center at Lutheran Kosciusko Hospital provides 17 private recovery rooms located in the SurgiCenter Care area of the hospital and treats patients on an outpatient basis Monday through Friday between 6 a.m. and 7:30 p.m.
The staff treats pre-surgical and post-surgical patients who have undergone or are undergoing the following procedures:
- Orthopedic surgery
- General surgery
- Gynecological procedures
- Endoscopy
- Podiatry surgery
- Ear/Nose/Throat procedures
- Ophthalmology-related procedures
- Urologic surgery
Other services:
- Pre- and post-radiological procedures requiring anesthesia
- Other outpatient procedures
- Epidural steroid injections
We provide care for patients of all ages, and offer pre-admission testing to everyone we treat. Patient education and family involvement are both major components of outpatient services due to the short length of stays, and the staff will follow up after discharge with phone calls.
The Day of Surgery:
Follow your doctor's and/or pre-admission testing instructions concerning when to stop eating, what medications to take and when to arrive, and check in at the information desk at the front of the hospital where you will be directed to the SurgiCenter hostess desk.
Make sure you bring a copy of:
- Your photo ID
- Insurance cards
- A complete list of your medications with last dose taken
- List of allergies and reactions
- A copy of your living will (Advance Directive)
To support a safe environment, you will not be allowed to take anything to surgery with you, including your jewelry. It's best to leave your personal items at home or with your family.
