Lutheran Kosciusko Hospital's rehabilitation services are designed to help patients regain their independence and improve their lives following injury or illness. Physical, occupational and speech therapists work with each patient to create a treatment program tailored to his or her individual needs.
Whether you’ve suffered an injury at work or on the field, are recovering from orthopedic surgery or just want to better manage your pain, Lutheran Kosciusko Hospital can help with services that include:
- Physical therapy: Therapists provide detailed evaluations and dynamic strength-and-conditioning exercises for arthritis, orthopedic trauma, osteoporosis and other bone and joint injuries. Specialized techniques include isokinetic muscle testing, augmented soft tissue mobilization (ASTM), cervical and lumbar traction and more.
- Occupational therapy: Occupational therapists help you regain the ability to perform daily tasks and improve quality of life by simulating work and home living situations. They also make adaptive equipment recommendations for activities such as bathing, grooming, meal planning and housekeeping. Along the way, your therapist will provide progress assessments and make any adjustments to maximize your success.
- Post-operative therapy: If you’re hospitalized following certain types of surgery, including joint replacement, you’ll be seen by a physical therapist. Though everyone’s different, we’ll work to get you up and moving the same day as surgery.
The rehabilitation team includes therapists, assistants, counselors and support staff who assist patients while in the hospital and after discharge. Outpatient rehab takes place at the Lutheran Kosciusko Hospital Health & Wellness Center, 1500 Provident Drive, Suite C.
